Pasifika

Talofa, Malo e lelei, Kia orana and Welcome,
it has been a funny start to the year. Tinah Tausia has graciously helped us out as a tutor for so long but unfortunately has been unable to continue from the beginning of the Second Term due to work commitments. We would like to thank Tinah for her time and efforts, especially since her own children left Ilam 2 years ago, she will be missed!

We have been trying to find a new Pasifika tutor but it is proving very difficult. If you know of anyone who would be willing to help, please contact Mr Withers, Mrs Haynes or Mrs Brunell.

Anyway, we are not letting a missing tutor hold us back and we are learning a new sasa from our stand in Samoan tutor, Mick Withers. He doesn't quite have the smooth moves or flowing grace of Tinah but I'm sure we will learn a sasa that will build on the Sosomai Challenge from Term 1.
We have included a copy of the sasa below. It is easy to follow as I have reverse imaged the video so whichever direction the performers move on the screen, you move in the same direction.

We hope you enjoy the sasa. Like our school theme at the moment, it is challenging but I know that we can do this. It would be awesome to do this at an assembly. We appreciate the effort that you put into your Pasifika sessions and it is amazing to see how you improve as each term progresses. Monday afternoons are a lot of fun when we are all there trying our best.

Mrs Brunell, Mrs Haynes and Mr Withers
